Spanning over the Xindian River is the Bitan Suspension Bridge connecting the two neighborhoods on the east and west side of the creek, making it one of the landmarks of New Taipei City. 200 meters long, the bridge was completed in 1936, the bridge is unique in that it is illuminated by light beams that change in color, creating a random effect and mini light-show.

Historically one of Taiwan's 12 Great Sites, the springs at Thermal Valley have the highest temperatures in the Datun Mountains area, giving off an eerie sulphuric steam that rises from the surface of the pond that plays around in the breeze. A post-volcanic geological park, Xiaoyoukeng is located on Mt. Qixing's northwestern corner, located approximately 805 metres above sea level. The area is known for fumaroles (mountain-side sulphur gas exhaust), hot springs, sulphur crystals, is located close by to Mt. Zhuzi, Mt. Datun, and Mt. Xiaoguanyin, and provides views of the northeast coast outside Jinshan town area.

Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei's Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artefacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War. The museum is currently celebrating its 90TH Anniversary.
